Discover things you didn’t know about A.C.

You may think you’ve seen it all and know everything about Atlantic City—after all, you work here. But chances are you may not know everything about Atlantic City’s unique history, not to mention all the new developments and changes that have taken place over the past couple of years. More importantly, tours are fun!
A Boardwalk Walking Tour would be a perfect way for you to brush up on the sites and sounds of Atlantic City. And, you can do it on your own. Spread the tour out over a few days or do it all at once; the choice is yours. All you have to do is visit the Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority’s website, www.atlanticcitynj.com, and click on the
Boardwalk Walking Tours banner. You can print out an informative walking tour to take along with you as you stroll the Atlantic City Boardwalk.
Beginning with New Jersey Avenue and the Garden Pier featuring the Atlantic City Art Center and Historic Museum, near Showboat, you can read along as you walk all the way to Boston Avenue and the Atlantic City Hilton. Along the way, you’ll read how Pennsylvania Avenue is the former site of Steeplechase Pier. Or how the James Salt Water Taffy store between Kentucky and New York Avenues is the building that houses the actual factory where James and Fralinger’s salt water taffy, fudge and macaroons are made, packaged and shipped. There’s plenty more, so be sure to check it out.
Another way to experience Atlantic City is the
AC Splash Pass Tour by Atlantic City Trolley Tours. Called a new “urban adventure,” the fully narrated tour includes new hot spots such as Atlantic City Outlets—The Walk and the Quarter at Tropicana, along with favorites such as the Absecon Lighthouse and the Atlantic City Aquarium/Ocean Life Center.
Beginning this year, the tour will also feature unlimited hop-on/hop-off opportunities. Guests on the AC Splash Tour will receive a trolley pass that is valid between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. for that day. The A.C. Splash Pass Tour takes place each Tuesday. The price is $19 for adults and $9 for children ages five to 10.
Atlantic City Trolley Tours also offers three additional sightseeing tours including the Maritime Tour, the Grape Vines & Vintage Shopping Tour and the Gingerbread Tour to Cape May. Tours depart from the Flagship/FantaSea Resort, Wyndham Skyline Tower, Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall’s Visitor Center, Tropicana and the Holiday Inn Boardwalk. If you’re interested in seeing a different side of Atlantic City, hop aboard Cruisin’ 1 of
Atlantic City Cruises and enjoy the a tour through Atlantic City’s back bays and Atlantic Ocean for an exciting view of the ever-changing skyline. This summer, try a Marine Mammal Adventure cruise for dolphin-watching and enjoy commentary from an onboard marine naturalist. If you are looking for a bird’s eye view of Atlantic City, look no further. From 10 a.m. to sunset, Atlantic City Cruises also offers parasailing, with single or tandem flights out of Gardner’s Basin.
