Patty Smyth and Scandal headline Trump Marina's Shell on February 12
Patty Smyth and Scandal will headline Trump Marina's Shell on February 12 for one show.
It was more than two decades ago when the band Scandal was formed by guitarist/songwriter Zack Smith. Back in the early '80s, Smith went in search of a sexy singer to get his songs across, and contacted Patty Smyth to join the band as vocalist. Once Smyth was on board, Scandal had early success with the single "Goodbye To You" off their debut album Scandal. The album became the largest selling EP in the history of Columbia Records. Scandal's second album, The Warrior, released in 1984, sold more than a million copies and featured the band's first Top 10 single, "The Warrior."
Just one year later, the band folded and Smyth launched her solo career. Never Enough was her first solo album, released in 1987. Another solo venture, Patty Smyth, debuted in 1992. This album's first single, "Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough," a duet with Don Henley, hit No. 2 on the Billboard charts and went gold. The album itself also went gold and featured two other minor hits, "No Mistake" and "I Should Be Laughing." Recently, Smyth and the remaining Scandal band members were the topic of VH1's Bands Reunited series.
Show time is 9 p.m. Tickets are just $22 and available through Ticketmaster.
