Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, Playstation 2, Xbox
Once again, LucasArts couples its newest hit film with a home-run game. Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith guides players through the action-packed movie while allowing them to take part in the mayhem. Gamers can choose whether they want to follow the light side or the dark side of the Force throughout the game; they have the option to play as either the patient Jedi master Obi Wan Kenobi or the recently turned-Sith Anakin Skywalker.
Both paths end in sadness, though, as the game follows the film's somber plot and Anakin falls into the dark side of the force to become the evil Darth Vader.
Revenge of the Sith has some pretty cool features that keep the game fun for hours. One feature is the different abilities for each side of the Force. If you choose the light path, you get to use controlled and stable powers of the Force such as turning the minds of enemies against each other. If you choose the dark side, though, you get to use chaotic and powerful elements of the Force, such as deadly shots of lightning that destroy anything in their path.
Other features of Revenge of the Sith include both cooperative and dueling multiplayer modes. Depending on your mood for the day, you can work with a friend and conquer the game as partners, or you can challenge your buddy to a violent light saber duel to the death.
Revenge of the Sith is entertaining for both fans of the Star Wars franchise and gamers just looking for some action. Players get all the elements of a blockbuster film with the addicting fun of a great video game. The game is wrought with spoilers, though, so you may want to go see the movie first.
Then again, you may want to feel in control of Anakin's inevitable fate by just playing the game instead.
