Country superstar Wynonna Judd will show why she is one of the most popular and respected country artists of all time when she performs at Harrah's May 5 and 6.
First gaining fame more than 20 years ago with her mother, Naomi, Judd scored an astounding run of 14 No. 1 singles from 1984 to 1989, selling more than 20 million albums and collecting more than 60 prestigious industry awards—including five Grammys—in a very small time frame.
As a solo artist, her resume isn't too shabby either, as she has sold millions of albums and scored a bunch of No. 1 hits.
Her most recent release, Her Story: Scene from a Lifetime, is a double-live CD that serves as the basis for her current tour, where she takes audiences on a musical journey that spans her illustrious career.
While everyone in the country seems fixated on American Idol, Wynonna is hoping her reality show, Nashville Star, finds its own audience in the very lucrative country music market.
The USA network series features Judd co-hosting with "hick-hop" singer Cowboy Troy as they search for the "next big thing" in country music.
The 41-year-old Kentucky native has become a multimedia institution. Aside from her CDs, DVDs and television work, she also wrote Coming Home to Myself, a memoir that discusses her physical, emotional and spiritual battles ranging from weight issues to being sexually abused.
Although she certainly won't be able to get through all of her hits, expect to hear country classics including some of her 20 No. 1 smashes, including "Mama He's Crazy," "Girls Night Out," "Love Is Alive," "Cry Myself to Sleep," "Maybe Your Baby's Got the Blues," "Young Love," "Only Love" and "To Be Loved by You."
