Before Ricky Martin, there was Jon Secada. The Latin sensation, known for his mix of R&B, Latin and pop, will show his stuff at resorts May 13.

Secada got his start working with Gloria Estefan, writing six songs for her smash 1991 album Into the Light, including "Coming Out of the Dark," which hit No. 1. After joining her as a backup singer for her tour, Secada landed his own deal and eventually sold more than 6 million albums worldwide on the way to becoming one of the most popular Latin acts of the 1990s.

Crossing over to adult contemporary radio certainly didn't hurt. Neither did his two Grammy Awards and knack for performing energetic live shows.

Secada has written songs for Martin, as well as Jennifer Lopez. Last year he released Same Dream, his first CD in five years, and a release that showcases the same pop-fueled soft rockers that made him a global sensation.
